In her early 30s, Bridget Jones (R. Zellweger) is in crisis: she thinks she is too chubby and she hasn't found the man of her dreams yet. Everything should be better in the new year, and she writes her New Year's resolutions in her diary: more sport, no cigarettes and, most importantly, finding the right man.
